Turns out being massively hungover is not the secret ingredient for culinary excellence.

Day 43 of 60 | Bonjour, Paris! 🇫🇷✨

Our new chef friends invited Lori and me out clubbing on Thursday night… to celebrate Thanksgiving. (I’m convinced they have secretly been waiting for an excuse to party with us Americans.) This is their pre-game photo shoot.

Now, I truly believed my nightclub days were somewhere far, FAR back in the rearview mirror, possibly fossilized by now to be studied by emerging twenty year olds in the future, but apparently I had one more big night out left in me.

I assumed the familiar role of “Charlie” from Charlie’s Angels making sure everyone got into the club, got their drinks, and stayed on mission while we danced our asses off until 4 AM, proving that some things do not change with age. Incredible night.

Getting up for class the next morning?

Not incredible.

Let’s just say you will get zero plating photos from yesterday’s class because nothing I made deserved to live on the internet. Turns out being massively hungover is not the secret ingredient for culinary excellence. Who knew? 🤣

Key lesson: Celebration has a cost; show up anyway.

Summary: Eric parties with chef friends until 4 a.m. and survives a rough morning class.
