My blood sugar clocked a very low and healthy 88.

Day 4 of my 60 Day Sugar Only Diet

Mornings are exciting for me cause I get to measure my progress. This morning I was rewarded with more good news. My blood sugar clocked a very low and healthy 88. This is down 11 points from my three month average of 99. Also, my weight dipped three pounds since I started this journey Saturday from 233 to 230!

These are just markers though. Of more importance, is how I feel. Simply put, I feel amazing. In unison with my new strength training, my body is starting to look and feel leaner. My clothes are starting to hang more loosely again and I slept great last night.

My levels of overall energy continue to exceed anything I have experienced in decades. I find myself cranking out projects left and right. Take out the trash, no problem. Get invited to go on my third hour walk of the day, I 'm game! Do the dishes, with pleasure! Make my bed and clean the apartment, done! I also managed to read two entire novels since Saturday morning. Anything that needs doing, I'm good to go! It's crazy!

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are my weight training days. My trainer was ready to crush me yesterday, but guess what? I cruised through his workout as if I had been training with him for months. He was impressed at my energy levels!

Of even more significance are the breakthroughs that I have made on the creative side. I have literally cranked out 12+ hours of creative writing over the last three days. In all honestly, it is some of my best work to date, no question. I am truly amazed at the gains.

Shifting gears to the diet itself, our regimen is to enjoy a lean protein and starch meal every third night just for dinner. So, last night was my first meal beyond sugar in three days. I chose to have wild caught Chilean Seabass cooked at home. I did not use any oils to cook it, but herbs. We are still off all fats, which even the healthier oils contain. I grilled up some onions and put down some strawberries. It was delicious!

I am truly amazed at the results thus far. I honestly expected to be tired, to experience weight gain and for my blood sugar to spike for the entire first week. Boy, was I wrong!

Makes you wonder what else we are wrong about when it comes to our health? Only one way to find out! This experiment will continue....

Key lesson: Mornings are exciting for me cause I get to measure my progress.

Summary: Day 4: mornings are exciting for measuring progress.
