They've now renamed it "Smurf Coffee" and have sworn off anything that isn't Italian espresso for life.

Days 22 & 23 of 60 | Bonjour, Paris! 🇫🇷✨

Yes, I’m still alive and well! I just took a creative pause yesterday. I’d love to say it was for dramatic effect, but truth be told, my poor sliced up fingers needed a break. Let’s just say that Ecole Ducasse isn’t just a cooking school… it’s an Olympic sport with knives. 🥲👩‍🍳

After two intense weeks of chopping, whisking, and sautéing, Lori and I have officially kicked off our well-earned four-day weekend, courtesy of a French holiday that, apparently, not even the French remember the reason for. When we asked a local what it was for, he shrugged and said, “Oh, something about winning some war.” 🇫🇷😂 Honestly? Fair enough.

Our dear friends arrived Friday night from Lake Como, so we’ve been doing our best to play the part of “temporary Parisians.” They’re off exploring the Louvre today, while we opted for a workout and some actual downtime.

And here’s where the day took a delightful twist. On our walk to the gym, we stumbled upon what might just be the best farmers market in all of Paris. Think: vibrant stalls bursting with color, the scent of fresh herbs in the air, baskets overflowing with perfect produce, and the kind of cheese that whispers, “Take me home.” 🧀💐🥖

Slightly embarrassed it took us three weeks to find it, but endlessly grateful we did. Because let’s be honest, who needs a grocery store when you’ve got this kind of magic right around the corner?

Now for today’s comic relief: we took our Italian friends out for coffee their first morning and thought they might enjoy trying the blue latte at our second-favorite café. They bravely took our suggestion, ordered it with enthusiasm… and nearly spit it out after the first sip. 😆 They’ve now renamed it “Smurf Coffee” and have sworn off anything that isn’t Italian espresso for life. We laughed about that all day, and honestly, fair play to them. Some things just shouldn’t be blue. 💙☕️😂

I’ve posted a few videos from the market as it’s a feast for the senses. Consider this your little virtual stroll through Paris on a Sunday morning. 🍌 🍎 🥦 🥕

Key lesson: The best travel moments are the unplanned, silly ones with friends.

Summary: A restful long weekend: friends arrive from Lake Como, a hidden farmers market, and the infamous blue "Smurf Coffee" incident.
