The Visual Results: Part 2 of a 2 Part Story
This was transformation………of the Soul.
This past year has been the most disciplined, humbling, and rewarding journey of my life. I’ve gained health, strength, and yes, even a new wardrobe. But more than that, I’ve gained myself.
No one tells you that losing 80 pounds comes with a hidden expense, replacing every single thing in your closet. Belts, jackets, pants, shirts… even underwear. When your boxers start looking like a parachute, it’s time to retire them. But every dollar spent has felt like a down payment on a worthwhile new life.
I’ve looked at these photos over and over again, and each time, I see a man who finally decided to put his health before his dreams. For decades, I’ve manifested visions, built companies, and climbed mountains of my own making, but I often neglected the one mountain that mattered most - my health.
This was my Mt. Everest. Every fast, every workout, every hard choice was another step up that slope. And somewhere along the ascent, I found a version of myself I hadn't’t seen in years.
The biggest win isn’t the weight lost, it’s the freedom gained. Freedom to move without pain. Freedom from the symptoms that once ruled my days. Freedom to dream into my 60s and beyond because, God willing, I now have a vessel built to flourish for decades, not just survive a few more years. Freedom, because for the first time in my life, my body and my spirit are finally moving at the same pace.
So why am I sharing this? Because behind every number, every streak, every stat I’ve ever posted here, there’s been a human story unfolding quietly in the background. And sometimes, the heart of that story doesn’t reveal itself until you see it.
To every person who’s read even one of my posts about my health journey this past year, who offered a kind word, a silent cheer, a reassuring phone call, or simply walked this journey with me — please know I felt you beside me. Your support carried me on the hardest days and reminded me I wasn’t climbing alone. Thank you, from the deepest place in my heart, for being part of this transformation.
Seeing these photos hit me harder than I ever expected because they don’t just show what I’ve sacrificed — they show everything I’ve gained. My health. My peace. God willing, more quality life!
And in the quiet of that realization, I was reminded that the greatest transformation isn’t measured on a scale or seen in a mirror. It happens inside, where the soul finally catches up to the person you were always meant to be.
With gratitude (and smaller pants),
Eric
