**Are you guys ready to follow another extreme health journey with me?** I hope your answer is yes, cause if you are, starting this Saturday, I am going to document my experiences in this group for the next 60 days.
If you were enamored, or concerned, by my 40-day water only fast last year, you might find this one even more wild, as it goes against almost everything we are being told by "health experts", let alone western medicine.
Before I unveil what it is, a quick recap. On October 24th of last year I embarked on a 40-day water only fast followed by a 20-day reintroduction to food. The results were mind blowing. First, I did not die, despite only consuming water for 40 days. Second, I lost 65 pounds, which I could most certainly afford to lose. This included vastly reducing the visceral fat in my gut area. Third, I dropped my daily blood sugar scores from 120+ to under 100 on the regular (77 to 99 is considered healthy, while 100+ is considered pre-diabetic). Fourth, I healed my gut and numerous other ailments like regular heartburn, severe aches & pains, high blood pressure, diverticulitis, and low energy.
Over the past six months since my fast ended, I have maintained a healthy diet as part of my new lifestyle. I do not eat processed foods of any kind, haven't had a single dessert, and alternate between a carnivore/keto type diet three days a week with 3 days of fruits & fibers. My biggest cheat is that I occasionally enjoy a few cocktails at my hotel's sunset happy hours and if I am being really bad, I put almond milk in my coffee. Compared to my prior ways of eating, I am practically a Saint now. I have felt amazing in my new body.
That begin said, I am irritated by one thing. The visceral fat is re-emerging in my tummy. While any weight gain has been modest, the bloating has returned and this concerns me. Also, my daily blood sugar scores vacillate between 92 and 106. This means that I have not defeated my diabetes completely yet, and I want to finish the job.
You might ask me, why not just fast again? Well, my health advisor and I do not feel that this would be in the best interest of my body. I already intermittent fast 5+ days per week so fasting is not the answer. Plus, I lost a fair amount of lean muscle from my fast which I have been working on regaining the right way. Recently I hired a strength training coach and have been lifting three days per week. I am already experiencing the benefits.
My goal is to drop down from my current 230 lbs. to a very healthy and fit 210 lbs. by the end of this year (or sooner). Unlike before though, I want to do this without the loss of lean muscle, so simply fasting is not going to be my approach.
My health advisor Christopher Kidawski, who inspired me to embark on my 40-day water only fast (and has been monitoring me since), has encouraged me to try something else, that is truly insane.
With his guidance, I will be going on a Sugar Only diet for 60 days! Yes, you heard me right. All you Carnivore Diet folks are literally losing your minds right now! This was my initial reaction too! As a Type-2 Diabetic the last decade, going on a sugar only diet kinda runs counter to, well, virtually everything I have learned about defeating Diabetes and maintaining optimum health. I am sure a couple of you are already preparing your concerned comments hoping to change my mind. I love you too!
Below is the protocol that I will begin this weekend for the next two months. As I did with my water fast journey, I will post regularly on my experiences, good or painful. I invite you to cheer me on, or if you prefer, judge me every step of the way. LOL!

DAY 2: Sugar Fast

My job is to keep fat as close to zero as possible except for day 6 or if I am unusually hungry. But we all know from my water fast skills, I won't be bowing down to hunger any time soon!
This is gonna be fun! Wish me luck!
