Nearly every morning I get asked how long I stay in the cold plunge. When I respond 15 to 20 minutes, I typically get two reactions. One, a compliment cause they see that amount of time as extremely difficult. Two, I get asked why so long.
My response is always the same. It’s not because I know something they don’t. Meaning it’s not because I read it somewhere or somebody told me that it was an optimal number of minutes. Why do it then?
I do it for the discipline. If you do the hardest thing each morning before you start your day, the rest of the day becomes easy. I do it cause it’s hard.
