Well, after sharing with my health professional that this symptom didn’t really go away, he recommended that I get Chelation therapy.

Day 4 is going well. I graduated to Organic Beef Bone Broth today for both lunch and dinner with a fresh squeezed OJ for breakfast and an afternoon snack.

I gotta say, it was a bit of a letdown. I built Broth up in my mind to expect an explosion of flavor and it was really just kinda bland. Oh well, just three days of this and then I finally get to have some actual food. I got this!

As I revealed in week four of my fast, one of the nastiest symptoms of detoxification that occurred was the taste of heavy metals in my mouth. Well, after sharing with my health professional that this symptom didn’t really go away, he recommended that I get Chelation therapy.

Chelation therapy is the study of measuring the body’s burden of toxic heavy metals such as mercury, lead, arsenic, cadmium, and more. If it is determined that a person has high levels of certain heavy metals and can be correlated to symptoms, a chelation protocol is recommended to remove them usually through the kidneys or urine via specific chelators such as DMPS, EDTA, DMSA, glutathione and vitamin C to bind and remove these toxins from our body.

So, I went to a clinic this morning that specializes in Chelation therapy IV drips. It took about an hour. I felt terrific afterwards and I’m excited to see if it rids me of this not so pleasant symptom.

They also offered to draw my blood to see how my kidneys and liver are performing. Due to all the symptoms of detoxification I experienced during my fast, Chris, Lori and I thought this would be a good idea. I’ll get those results on Tuesday. Should be interesting as I will be able to compare them with blood test I took back in January when I was still very unhealthy.

One great result today that I would like to share is that as long as I can remember every time someone takes my blood pressure at a doctors office, they tell me that my blood pressure is very concerning. The first number is usually over 150 to 170.

For the first time ever, at any doctors office, they took my blood pressure and told me that it was excellent! It was 120/71. This is ideal for a man my age. Pretty stoked!

Key lesson: Persistent symptoms merit professional diagnostics, not just waiting.

Summary: Day 4: graduated to organic beef bone broth and fresh OJ; chelation therapy recommended.
