It’s been a productive ten days here on the Big Island transforming our property into Hamakua Hotel. Our team was able to accomplish the following.
1) Got a ten person construction team going on the renovation of our hotel rooms.
2) Hired a local tile expert to re-tile all our lanai.
3) Worked with our Interior Designer to make final decisions on our hotel room transformations.
4) Reduced the size of our farm-to-table garden to be more manageable.
5) Raised $300,000 in new capital.
6) Made physical changes to Yurt structures to transform them into a spa/healing/fitness space.
7) Got involved in a local political campaign.
8 ) Filled two giant dumpsters with stuff that needs to go.
9) Constructed a fence on our new hiking trail down to our recently acquired beach access.
10) Transferred everything in our weight room to our other property to make way for a creative space. More on this later.
11) Hired a web designer to build our permanent website.
12) Hired a weldor to make a new sign for our front gate.
13) Sourced a chef.
14) Hired a Publicist.
15) Sourced and hired a talented local Muralist (pictured below) to transform the outside of our barn into a whimsical magic doorway. I’ll show you the finished product in about three weeks!
I have one more week on island to get ‘er done before I head back to Miami and manage from afar for a bit! Super proud of our team.
