make 2024 a heck of a lot better than 2023 was for some of us!

Back in Destin to pack up for our move to Miami January 1st. Haven’t been here since May. I forgot how beautiful the beach is here and how great a job Lori Lochtefeld did remodeling her beachouse that we are staying at till the move. Happy to spend two weeks here.

I’m starting to see some articles and posts about 2023 as a year overall. I find myself resonating with the ones calling it out as very so-so. My default mindset is typically set for gratitude, but I’ll go ahead and say it, 2023 was not my favorite year! Not all bad, not all good, but enough not so fun surprises to make me look forward to the year ahead with enthusiasm for a fresh start.

If you feel the same way, then I invite you to make 2024 something to look forward to and enjoy. Each new year brings an opportunity for personal growth and achievement in areas that you determine matter to you.

I’ve got a lot on my plate already for the coming year. I’m completing major renovations at my hotel in Hawaii (pool and hotel rooms). I also need to continue to renovate in between renters at the Waterfalling Estate property while breaking in a new property management team. I’ve got at least two, maybe three real estate property syndications to raise money for and set up post acquisition. And, I am breaking in a new city, living in Miami for the majority of the year.

But, these are just the things on my to do list. They will all get done. That’s just how I operate. What about the things just for me? How am I going to personally grow in 2024?

I invite you to join me in taking some time to really think about this. I encourage you to choose at least three ways you will attempt to grow in 2024, that are just for you.

I don’t like throwing goals out without a real commitment behind them, so I’m going to give it some serious thoughts over the last two weeks of this year before deciding. I’ll share when I’m ready and locked in.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve really sucked at achieving my health goals the past two years, despite a fair of commitment and effort. Heck, I lost 40 pounds three freaking times over this span. That ain’t easy! But I’ve proven to myself that while I am an expert at losing weight, I’m equally good at gaining it all back. You can count on a new approach to my health goals being one of my focuses in 2024!

When you discover what yours are, I invite you to post them in the comment section or feel free to write your own post within this group. I’ll join you soon. Let’s make 2024 a heck of a lot better than 2023 was for some of us!

Key lesson: Each new year is an invitation to choose three ways to grow.

Summary: Eric calls 2023 'so-so,' lays out 2024 projects, and commits to rethinking his health approach.
