Timeless
I can take care of challenging unexpected matters without succumbing into any pain and suffering at all.

I’ve been a bit quiet of late. Sorry about this. The good news is that when I stray too far from inspiration, I always find my way back to what I enjoy most - inspirational writing.

My unnessary excuse is that I’m locked in. I’m focused. I’m grinding. Why?

I find myself unexpectedly locked into a complicated real estate transaction that requires my full commitment and creativity. It’s hard, high stakes and requires a ton of execution in a short period of time.

If you’re thinking, wait, weren’t you just in Maui at an Eckhart Tolle presence practice retreat sipping fine Tequilla, watching beautiful sunsets, making excellent use of the here and now?

Why yes, that’s exactly what I was doing just three weeks ago. So what the heck disturbed my slow roll to another year?

The reasons are unimportant, but what is important is how we react when life serves up a few lemons. Do we attempt to make lemonade, giving it our all, sacrificing everything till we get a win no matter how it makes us feel? Or, do we wilt, and allow the lemon juice to fall into little cuts in our skin, causing pain?

What my presence practice has taught me is that these are not the only options anymore. I can take care of challenging unexpected matters without succumbing into any pain and suffering at all. Just do what I need to do and remain calm and most importantly - present. And, the best part is, I don’t have to be perfect. If I falter in this, and I will, I will always have the present moment to self correct.

I prefer to drink the tasty lemonade of life as I convert the lemons life sometimes serves up. I prefer this path a lot more.

Despite my 12 hour intense work days of late, yesterday I found time to be present for a beautiful Florida sunset last night at my home in Destin. Life is beautiful in the here and now. I don’t have to be on vacation in Maui in a vacation state to experience happiness.

If you are struggling, I will do my best to inspire you to a new way in 2023. If I can make this transition, you can too. Your sunsets await you!

Key lesson: Presence practice is not for vacations only — it lets you handle hard, unexpected work without suffering.

Summary: Pulled from Tolle-retreat calm into a high-stakes real estate deal, he stays present through 12-hour workdays.
