A good sized sized chunk of my family arrives today to spend the holidays together in our new home in Destin, Florida. I am super excited for two reasons. One, I get to spend Christmas with them. Two, I get to host for the first time in our new location.
I absolutely love to host family and friends. It’s a huge reason why I chose Destin with my 50% of the vote, to be our new home for half the year. Hawaii is hard to beat, but his place holds its own. Lori just closed on a second property yesterday and is in escrow to buy two more for her bustling short term vacation rental business, so she obviously thinks highly of Destin too, going all in.
My focus these days are on creating and experiencing special moments. Goosebump moments being my favorite. Sometimes a fair amount of advance planning is needed to set them up to flourish. Other times they are spontaneous and require no work whatsoever.
I’m so damn sore all over from getting our new home just perfect for my family’s arrival (lots of stairs guys), that I can barely move without feeling like I’m, well, 51. I spent more time this week at the Big 3 (Home Depot, Target & Bed Bath & Beyond) than I did sleeping. But our place is finally ready and it’s worth it, cause the next two weeks are going to be special. Always happy to do the work to make magic happen.
My Christmas wish is that each of you in this group has many special moments over the holidays too. You deserve it.
