Day 10 of a 22 Day Adventure in Italy
Today was about two things: relaxation & our first grand Culinary Oasis prepared dinner party in a foreign country.
The day started with three voluntary options: sleep in, yoga or weight lifting. Ten of our guests chose to sleep in. 💤 Seven of our guests chose to do yoga with the local yoga instructor we brought in. They were rewarded with one heck of a location to practice - overlooking the blue of the ocean. Two people chose to lift weights - me & Lori Lochtefeld. 🤣 We are officially gym rats.
After breakfast, I hosted a tour of the entire resort. I did my best to answer questions about the history of the structures, but given that the oldest one was built in the 1500’s and the second during the times of Napoleon, I could only go so deep.
What I was able to do was explain our vision for what we plan to do with the property in partnership with our new Italian partners.
After the tour, it was alll about relaxing. Many guests hit the pool and some got massages. What we all did was give our bodies a much needed rest from all the travel to get here.
Our evening was special, as our Culinary Oasis team hosted its very first sunset happy hour & dinner party. If you’ve ever visited our Hamakua Hotel or even participated in one of my bliss retreats, you know how we love to put these on!
The entire evening could not have gone any better. Chef Edward’s menu was spectacular and Chef Dray & Chef Lori contributed brilliantly towards making our first meal in a foreign country truly memorable. Kudos to the hotel staff lent to us for the evening, as they did a flawless job serving our creations.
The highlight of the evening for me was when Matteo (the founder & current owner) of Villa Riviera stood up to talk about how he conducted a global search for a business partner that would be as excited about Villa Riviera’s potential as he was, and the then I arrived on his doorstep. It touched my soul.
I am so happy that we managed to find each other in this big beautiful world. He is my Italian brother!
