A Different Way to Think About What I Do

Over the years, I’ve had a lot of different ways to answer the question, “What do you do?”

At different points, the answer has been real estate investor, operator, entrepreneur… all of which were true, just incomplete.

What I’ve realized more recently is that none of those titles fully capture how I actually think about what I do.

At the core, I’ve always been drawn to finding overlooked or underutilized assets, improving them in a thoughtful way, and then creating experiences around them that people genuinely value. That’s been the common thread, whether it was a theater in Silicon Valley years ago or what we’ve built more recently in Hawaii.

What’s changing now isn’t that foundation, it’s the scale and structure around it.

Instead of doing this one property at a time, I’m stepping into a role where I can do it across a collection. More intentional. More connected. Built with a longer-term vision in mind.

That shift is what led me to formalize things a bit more and put together a simple personal brand site that explains how I approach this work and where I see it going. It may also take you down memory Road for some of the real estate activities I’ve written about Your in this group in the last few years. I know it did for me.

It’s not meant to be a pitch or a deep dive, just a clearer articulation of how I think about building, operating, and evolving these kinds of assets over time.

For me, this next chapter feels less like a departure and more like a natural progression of everything I’ve been doing — just with a wider lens.

Key lesson: Titles describe roles; the through-line is finding overlooked assets and creating valued experiences.

Summary: Reframes his identity from investor/operator to a builder of experience assets across a collection.
