Tonight, before I finally lay my head down, my heart is full in the very best way.
Today I had the profound honor of officiating the wedding of two dear friends, Akshay Nanavati & Melissa Nanavati, in Scottsdale, Arizona. 🤍
If you’ve been following along this journey, you might reasonably be scratching your head… wondering how someone goes from finishing a final exam in Paris at 2:00 p.m. to standing under the Arizona sky, marrying two people, less than 24 hours later.
That story is wild.
It’s fun.
But, I’ll have to share it another time.
Cause tonight, that’s not what’s on my heart.
What’s on my heart is them.
Akshay and Melissa are the kind of people who elevate every room they walk into, not by volume or ego, but by presence, integrity, intelligence, and a quiet confidence that comes from knowing who you are and why you’re here. Separately, they are exceptional. Together, they are unmistakably powerful.
Their love story isn’t just romantic, it’s intentional. Built on mutual respect, shared values, curiosity, humor, ambition, and a deep commitment to becoming better humans together. Watching them exchange vows wasn’t just moving… it was inspiring. The kind of moment that reminds you what partnership is really meant to be.
I will add this, somehow, on less than four hours of sleep over the past 36 hours, I managed to do an admirable job as the officiant. 😅 Not because of caffeine or willpower, but because when you’re standing between two people like this, fueled by their love and the energy in the room, you don’t feel tired. You feel energized and present.
I’ll say this without hesitation: by the time their epic love story has fully unfolded, they will be the poster children for the term “power couple.” Not because of what they achieve (though that will be extraordinary), but because of how they move through the world - together.
If you’re so inclined, I invite you to look them up. Learn who they are. Pay attention to how they live, lead, and love. The world is better with people like them in it, and even better when two of them choose each other.
