Day 49 of 60 | Bonjour, Paris! 🇫🇷✨
Big day in Paris as my sister Sue and brother-in-law Joe arrived this morning, got the grand tour of our neighborhood, and are already settling into that “Is this real life?” Paris glow. We’re so excited for the weekend ahead.
As for school… today was actually shockingly chill. We spent the morning in a classroom finalzying our ingredients list for our upcoming final exam and prepping for tomorrow’s third exam - no knives flying, no onions attacking our eyes, no chef yelling “Allez! Allez!” Just good old-fashioned studying like mostly civilized human beings with a pinch of stress.
And then came the kitchen.
We basically cooked everything left in the fridge. I’m talking beef, foie gras, octopus, mushrooms, all the stray sauces… if it wasn’t nailed down, it went in a pan. It was like a Michelin-star version of “Chopped: End-of-Week Clean-Out Edition.”
By the end, we were all completely stuffed - waddling out of the kitchen like we’d just finished Thanksgiving dinner, part three in our case. Not a bad way to wrap up our final day of formal cooking instruction.
Next up: the business side of running a restaurant and gearing up for our exams, which I will share all about soon. But tonight? Tonight I rest my feet, my brain, and definitely my stomach. 😅
