Today was a day chosen by me, for me, and I showed up beautifully for it. I give myself an A+.

Day 25 of 60 | Bonjour, Paris! 🇫🇷✨

Today was a French holiday, and I decided to make it a holiday for myself, too - a day devoted entirely to moi.

So what gifts did I give myself?

First, the gift of rest. Lori and I usually wake at 5:45 a.m. to get to school on time, so sleeping in until 9 felt like absolute luxury. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is let your body catch up.

Next, I treated myself to the only facility I could find that offers a cold plunge. It’s a 45-minute ride, so not exactly an everyday indulgence, but oh was it worth it. I booked a private room just me, a cold plunge and an infrared sauna for an hour. It was glorious - equal parts invigorating and grounding.

Back at the apartment, I laced up for a long, easy walk. I stopped by two of my favorite coffee shops along the way (because why have one great coffee when you can have two?).

Eventually, I found myself wandering past the Eiffel Tower, watching tourists light up with joy as they snapped their photos. It never gets old - that pure excitement, that first-time wonder. Paris has a way of holding that magic for everyone, every day.

Once home, with my newfound Chef skills I cooked a simple, satisfying dinner: steak, sautéed onions, and half an avocado. Nourishing and uncomplicated.

And tonight, I’ll end the day by finally opening a book a friend gave me ages ago. It feels fitting, as I’m very much on my own journey right now.

Today was a day chosen by me, for me, and I showed up beautifully for it.

I give myself an A+. 💫

Key lesson: Rest is productive — honoring your own needs is showing up for yourself.

Summary: A French-holiday day devoted entirely to himself: sleeping in, cold plunge, walks, and a home-cooked steak.
