Preparing For My Sunset Years:

Part 5 of 5 - The New Dream

✅ Put Health 1st

✅ Go out on top as an Entrepreneur

✅ Experience the 2028 LA Olympics from the inside

Once I check these three boxes, my Sunset Years will officially commence.

It is my vision to kick them off by moving abroad for two years. Despite traveling to over fifty countries in my lifetime, the longest I have ever stayed in one place abroad is three weeks. I desire to live in another country for two consecutive years. Embrace the culture, learn the language and really experience everything that it embodies.

This is not U.S. bashing. I have plenty of love for my country. It is far more strategic and not at all political. I’m gonna use this time as a total reset. I’ve been a doer for so long that I desire some time off to learn how to just be.

As I have shared in this group in the past, I began a presence practice a couple of years ago. While I’ve made tremendous strides in my practice, I’m still just a babe in the woods. I went from 100% doing to about 90% doing and 10% being. This was enough to experience the miracles and taste the magical benefits. I would like more of this!

I am not naïve to the fact that unplugging as an entrepreneur after thirty years will not be easy for me. in fact, it might be the hardest thing I will ever attempt to do.

As with so many worthwhile journey’s in life, putting yourself in the right environment, surrounded by the right people, is a key ingredient to success. My bet is that Italy will be that place for Lori and I.

My post a few weeks ago with a photo of George Clooney and his shared experience residing in Lake Como was definitely an influence on my country selection, but so were all the vacations we’ve taken to Italy. We love their culture. We love the food. We love their architecture, their water views, everything! You don’t have to teach Italians bliss, it’s their way of daily life.😎

Inspiration comes in many shapes and sizes and from many different directions, it’s what you do with that inspiration that sets a Dreamer apart. Thanks for the assist George. Maybe you’ll rent us one of your houses!

Italy is the apple of my eye. Lori and I have not decided what region or city within Italy yet. We look forward to the project of narrowing that decision down over the years to come.

In fact, we are committed to practicing living abroad this coming November and December. Our hotel will be closed in November (it takes two months off per year), so we’re taking advantage of that time to enroll in a prestigious cooking school in Paris created by legendary French Chef Alain Ducasse.

We also hope to spend time with our incredible hotel co-owner Chef Edward Delling-Williams in nearby Normandy. This will require us to live in central Paris for two full months. We are very excited and believe that it will be great practice.

If you’ve been reading closely these last few days, you now understand how seriously I take preparation for my dreams. It may seem like I make quick decisions followee by massive action, but I am very methodical in my preparation for my most meaningful bliss journeys.

There is most definitely a part two to the conclusion of this story. I did not take you on this journey just to tell you that I am going to move to Italy for two years! 👀

Tomorrow I travel to Hawaii with my 93-year-old dad and 91 year-old mother, so you’re gonna have to wait till the weekend for the conclusion.

The benefit to your waiting is the more I’m inspired the better I write. As you guys know I’m good for at least five typos per post, in time always seems to be limited for endless proofreading, but this weekend I will be in the perfect setting to bring this to a conclusion. Sun on my face, ocean in my view, and a full heart for my parents being with me in their favorite place for a well earned vacation.
