It feels so good to be back on my morning routine after a week of being cooped up like an invalid, bed ridden and sickly. I had so many symptoms pummeling me that my wife jokingly described what I had as the black plague. My body was purging after 54 years of mistreatment, all at one time.
I just enjoyed a cold plunge and now I am out for a walk along the beautiful Key Biscayne waterfront. It’s super sunny and about 80 degrees. Picture below.
My good buddy Akshay Nanavati is walking across Antartica for 110 days unassisted, and by himself, pulling a 400+ pound sled right now. He broadcasts his mindset daily. The focus of one the other day was, you have two options in life: You keep going or you quit. His mantra is “The only way out is through”. Boy does that accurately describe my options this past week.
Just took a break from my walk, to sit on a park bench to write this post. With the sun on my face, my skin warming, I feel a sense of accomplishment.
For those that I confided in about just how bad it got, I keep getting asked, was it worth it? To be able to enjoy this moment and have this feeling. Heck yeah.
