Passion vs. Money
I’ve never believed that a person needs to choose between these options.
The lion’s share of financially successful individuals I’ve met got there by mastering the craft they chose to pursue. The money followed once they achieved mastery, not before or because of their initial career choice.
I prefer to seek out opportunities I find interesting, challenging, and exciting. It’s a recipe for greater happiness and joy. I’ve discovered that it’s also a more reliable pathway to financial abundance.
This photo is from 2017. My business partner Patrick Combs and I were preparing for our first bliss retreat together. On the table were photos of our first ten customers. We were so excited to brainstorm ways to get them to discover and follow their bliss.
We chose to do this business because it excited and challenged both of us. It was definitely very interesting work. Neither of us initially thought it would make us any money, but due to our dedication and achievement of a certain level of mastery, our part-time coaching business surpassed a million dollars in revenue.
