If you really desire something, but don’t change any of the beliefs, habits or patterns that prevent you from attaining what you desire, well…….we all know what the results of that desire will be. To think otherwise would be delusional.
Adversely, if you believe with all your heart that you can and will accomplish your desire, and are willing to courageously commit and go all in, well……we all know what the results of that desire will likely be. To think otherwise would be delusional.
I think that I’ve arrived at a point where I have witnessed so many examples of both kinds of delusions, that I’ve developed a new belief. It’s this:
At birth, perhaps we are all handed out specific gifts. Predispositions to certain talents and crafts if I may. Callings is another description. But they only come with potential. Never a sure thing. We have free will to decide whether we will engage with our gifts and callings or not.
If this is in fact a truth of the Universe then I am very grateful that inspiration and leadership were my two gifts. I am also very self aware that I made many choices to honor one but have held back on the other.
I have consistently pushed myself to new heights in the area of inspiration since I was a child. And with every new journey I feel like I’ve only just begun. When I inspire, I truly feel like I’m doing the job I was born to do.
What gift have I purposely held back on? Leadership. I replaced leadership with a massive passion for real estate. Why? Cause I found the world very unkind to leaders. I can’t write these words without clearly seeing the differences in courage. Courageous at one (and even in a substitute one) but not the other. Duality for sure!
But who knows? Life can be full of miracles. Maybe I’ll find a way to allow my commitment to inspire, honor my gift for leadership someday. What I know for sure is that what I wrote in the first two paragraphs above will be the decider.
How about you? If you had to choose two gifts you were given at birth, what are they and where do you stand?
