Akshay is hands down the most courageous person I know.

My upcoming retreat in Hawaii focuses on two key areas of personal development - presence and courage. I am so excited to host a retreat with Akshay Nanavati as the lead Presenter on Courage.

In addition to being a dear friend, who I admire and cherish, his life reads like a hit Hollywood movie.

Wasting away his potential as a teenager, he finds a purpose after watching the movie “Black Hawk Down”. He opts for the ultimate transformation and enlists in the Marines.

After significant time proudly serving our country in the War in Iraq, where his specialty was clearing land mines for the safety of his platoon, he returns to America more broken than before he enlisted. Riddled with P.T.S.D. and drowning himself in alcohol to forget, he comes a millisecond away from taking his own life out of survivors remorse and heartbreaking grief from seeing so many of his friends die.

Instead of pulling the trigger though, he sets out on a new purpose - to better understand the brain and why it brought him, and so many of his friends, to their state of fear and hopelessness.

He researched the brain with the same passion that led him to enlist and authored the incredible book “Fearvana”. He even got the Dalai Lama to write its forward, which is beyond astounding.

Akshay has spent the last five years touring the world sharing his inspirational and informative story while keeping a promise he made to himself and his fallen comrades.

What was his promise? To live his life to the absolute fullest by pushing the limits of human suffering to achieve enlightenment. To list his achievements with this mindset would be a disservice to how hard they all were. Better to hear his stories first-hand and in-person.

Akshay is hands down the most courageous person I know. This is why I asked him to help design and co-present the courage portion of our curriculum at our upcoming retreat.

The Personal Development Retreat of the Year is happening September 12-17 at the famed Waterfalling Estate on the Big Island of Hawaii and you’re invited!

Personal Development All-Stars (and dear friends) Patrick Combs, Akshay Nanavati, Heather Dee Frankovich and Retreat Host expert Eric Lochtefeld are teaming up for a one-of-a-kind transformational experience.

We are passionate and ready to show you the life-changing power of a presence practice. Everything you’ve ever truly wanted is waiting for you to awaken to your Presence Power. Come join us for the most transformative wisdom available in life; mountain top wisdom, the wisdom of the ages, and the sages.

In our time together, you’ll learn how to access your best life, and your best self, every day, moment by moment. Together, we’ll get clear on what is currently blocking the love, peace, joy, and abundance that flow continually when you discover through presence how to access, ‘the miracle zone’ of the now.

The cost is $3500 and the retreat is all-inclusive. We are even throwing in your flight to Hawaii via SFO or LAX. Renowned Chef Joseph Martinez will take us all on a culinary journey to feed our souls and nourish our bellies with three gourmet meals per day. Local Mixologist Stacey Breining will delight your taste buds with exotic craft cocktails or mocktails every night at our Sunset Happy Hours. Finally, lodging at the Waterfalling Estate is its own grand adventure. See video below to learn more about our host property.
