Think of your right hand as the one that guided you to follow your bliss and your left hand as the one that practices presence!

Awakened Doing: Part 2

Another core belief of mine for the first fifty years of my life is that we all have a purpose inside of us. A reason we were put on this earth if you will. I still believe this. But, this belief got amended when I discovered the second pathway to enlightenment through presence.

You may even remember that I wrote and published a book called “Purpose Code”. The book was a roadmap on how to discover your life’s purpose. If I were to rewrite the book, it would need to change the title because I now believe that we all have two purposes, an outer purpose and an inner purpose. The book would have to be renamed “Outer Purpose Code” cause that was the only one written about.

Outer purpose is unique to each person. Discover your outer purpose, commit to it, and you will align with good feelings in a way that astounds you. This is how you follow your bliss. Pathway #1.

Inner purpose though, is universal and the same for everyone. It is to awaken. To become conscious. To be become present.

What does conscious presence mean? It simply means being present with life as it arises in a conscious way.

Once you learn to tap into presence, you gain access to peace, joy and self-love in an even more astounding way, and all while doing…….wait for it……nothing at all.

How is this possible? One path has you doing all kinds of cool stuff aka - your dreams and/or bliss), while another path has you doing nothing at all. How can they both lead to the same result?

As a life longer Dreamer and 5+ year Bliss Seeker, it took awhile for me to actually grasp this conceptually. My Ego protested, “nothing is better than living your dreams or following your bliss! How could anything be better?” Its nasty need to be right and feel superior arised again! But, the evidence became overwhelming. I finally accepted IT.

It took my stubborn ass even longer to believe IT though. But once I did, I saw the unlimited potential in joining the two paths together. Bliss most definitely had a sibling.

As my dear friend and presence mentor Patrick Combs taught me, “Think of your right hand as the one that guided you to follow your bliss and your left hand as the one that practices presence!”

By combining presence with following your bliss, you learn how to quiet your Ego so you can hear what your Soul wants. It’s that simple, and that hard, all at once. It most certainly will be a challenge. However, with practice, you will learn that it makes everything in your life easier. Miracles and synchronicities will happen regularly. You will appreciate things so much more. Enlightenment will become an attainable experience that can be tasted more often.

With this knowledge, my journey of Awakened Doing has begun in earnest. Beginnings are my favorite part. I promise to share the journey as it unfolds.

Yesterday I shared some of my plans with my long-time banker. He expressed sincere concern that I needed to slow down. He innocently asked me, “When is enough going to be enough?”

The journey I’m about to embark on will not be understood by most, but it will by you. Cause you know my why, my purpose(s).

Key lesson: Outer purpose is unique to you; inner purpose — to awaken — is universal.

Summary: Awakened Doing Part 2: outer purpose (follow your bliss) and inner purpose (awaken) combined.
