This week at Bliss Island is special to me. After four years of producing nearly 40 retreats with many great partners, I am the retreat host and the content provider for the very first time.
I typically co-host all the retreats at my properties, but when it comes to content delivery, I mostly seed the stage to world-class content providers or experts. I’m typically invited to deliver an inspirational speech or two, lead a brainstorming workshop and share some business tactics when warranted, but my primary role is to run the retreats operationally and be their Master of Ceremonies. If you remember the hit tv show Fantasy Island, think the role Ricardo Montalbán played. I’m Mr. Rourke.
But this year I decided to challenge myself by creating a retreat series called The Inspired Retreat where I develop and deliver 100% of the content. I’m just two days in but it feels really good. I feel comfortable in the role and I’m happy with the content and it’s impact this far. I’m grateful for a chance to lead and I’m cherishing the special moments. Here are but a few.
