It probably seems like Lori and I are always on vacation, but this was actually the first pure vacation we’ve both taken together in at least a year.
When Covid began two years ago, Lori and I chose to sell our home in California and relocate to two places that made us feel like we were perpetually ”on vacation”. This is how we ended up in Hawaii and Destin, Florida. There was a LOT of travel in between, but it always had the intended mission of finding two places we could make our homes.
Sure, we snuck in quite a few weekend getaways and nice hotel stays along the way, but to me, a vacation means that you are fully unplugged, devoid of responsibilities and every day is a blank canvas ready to be painted any way you choose. No added agendas like considering a real estate purchase or focused on running a business in between meals or adventures. Truly present to our surroundings and each other. This is what I mean by pure.
Bora Bora has been that for us. Today we begin our journey home. We both feel relaxed and rested. Our batteries are recharged. We are ready to take on the full plate we have waiting for us with various businesses, new opportunities and ventures, demands of our real estate portfolio and a new found health regimen that we are super excited about. Most of all, we feel very much in love after 15 years of marriage. We are both very grateful for this time together.
Thanks for tolerating our indulgence of posting amazing nightly sunset photos. Super annoying to some, pleasant or heart warming to others. I swear this is the last one. From our last night at the St. Regis. Sunsets were definitely one of the highlights every day. We see a lot of beautiful orange & red sunsets in Hawaii & Destin but this gold color with dynamic pink & peach flairs was truly unique.
